Tapeloop sample pack 01

A collection of samples made with reel to reel tapeloops.
I set up tapeloops of different lengths on a Nagra 4.2 and used a variety of tape.
This pack contains :
69 loops (vary in length from 20 seconds to a minute or two)
63 synth samples
Some recordings are on the slowest tape speed, and many are on a faster tape speed because they sound so beautiful when you re-sample them at slow speed / pitch them down.

There are recordings of a Toy Piano,Glockenspiel,Chinese Bamboo flute,small Guqin,Wind chimes.

They're intentionally dusty and low fi, recorded with a Shure sh-57.
Some are sound on sound recordings, where the loop has been recorded over many times building up a strange collage of sound.
And also many synth sounds. Most of those are one shots to put in a sampler.

I used some old tape, some really old tape and some un-used tape.
Recordings vary in length, some are left to loop numerous times, because cool things happen when the tape loops / goes over splice points.

Synths used are Yamaha DX7, Korg EX800, Roland JV1010.
All samples were recorded to tape with a Nagra 4.2 reel to reel tape machine.

The nature of this method is quite time consuming but also really fun. I hope you can have fun using the sounds and spark some nice ideas with them.
